Study examines United States hip replacement failures
A NEW study has revealed the most common reasons why hip replacements fail in the United States.
Researchers analysed data from approximately 50,000 patients who had to have their hip replacements redone between October 1, 2005 and December 31, 2006.
They found the most common reasons for patients needing subsequent hip replacement surgery include dislocation or loosening of the implant or an infection.
